Terms of Service

Last updated: June 6, 2026

Agreement to these terms

By installing or using Tubelator, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, uninstall the extension. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after a material change means you accept the new terms.

Description of the service

Tubelator is a Chrome extension that adds AI-powered transcripts, multi-language subtitles, AI summaries, and AI chat to YouTube. The Free plan is available at no cost with monthly usage limits. Plus and Pro plans unlock higher limits and additional features; see the Pricing page for current numbers.

Accounts

  • You can sign in with Google or with an email and password. Unverified accounts are blocked from upgrading.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep your password secure. We will never ask for your password in an email or DM.
  • You can delete your account at any time from the extension settings. Deletion removes your account data and all saved transcripts within 30 days.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of Tubelator.
  • Abuse the AI APIs, including by automating requests in violation of the published rate limits.
  • Use Tubelator to facilitate copyright infringement, harassment, or any illegal activity.
  • Circumvent plan limits through any means — including by creating multiple free accounts.
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense Tubelator or any output of Tubelator as a competing product.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. When practical, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the issue.

Plans and billing

All paid plans are billed monthly in USD through Stripe. On a paid plan your usage limits follow your billing period, resetting on your renewal date; on Free they reset at the start of each UTC calendar month. You can cancel any time from your account settings; cancelling stops future billing, but we don't offer refunds for the period you've already paid for — your plan stays active through the end of that period, then your account drops to Free. Moving to a cheaper paid plan works the same way: cancel, keep your current plan until the period ends, then resubscribe to the plan you want. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated.

Fair usage

"Unlimited" on the Pro plan (AI overviews, AI chat messages, and transcript exports) means unlimited for one person's normal, individual use of Tubelator — not a fixed daily cap, but also not a resource to automate, resell, or share across a team of people using one account.

Every plan also has a per-video length ceiling — a technical limit, not a usage restriction: very long videos take proportionally longer to process. Free supports videos up to 30 minutes, plus one video up to 2 hours per month. Plus and Pro support videos up to 4 hours.

  • We reserve the right to review, throttle, or reach out about accounts whose usage substantially exceeds normal individual use — for example, scripted or automated requests, or one account used by many separate people.
  • If we ever do this, we'll contact you first wherever practical, rather than cutting you off without warning.
  • This policy exists to keep the unlimited tiers sustainable for everyone paying for them; it is not a hidden numeric cap we enforce automatically today.

Intellectual property

  • You own the transcripts Tubelator generates for videos you submit. (This is subject to the underlying video's copyright — Tubelator does not grant you any rights to the video itself.)
  • We own the Tubelator code, brand, design, and documentation. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any of it without our written permission.
  • Feedback you send us (suggestions, bug reports, ideas) is not confidential. We may use it freely.

Third-party content

Tubelator does not host or stream video content. Video files remain on YouTube and are subject to YouTube's terms and the video creator's copyright. Transcripts we generate are derivative works of those videos — please respect the rights of the original creators when you reuse them.

Disclaimers

Tubelator is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. We do our best to deliver accurate transcripts, but automatic transcription is not perfect — especially with background noise, accented speech, or technical jargon. AI Overview and AI Chat outputs may also contain errors. Always double-check important information against the source video.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of Tubelator is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (which is $0 if you're on the Free plan). We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Changes to these terms

We will notify you of material changes by email and via an in-product banner. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel your paid plan and stop using the extension.
