Frequently asked questions
Can I switch plans later?
Upgrades apply immediately and are prorated. There's no self-serve downgrade — to move to a cheaper plan, cancel from the billing portal. Your current plan stays active until the end of the billing period, then your account drops to Free; you can resubscribe to any plan after that.
What happens when I hit a limit?
The feature is blocked and a paywall modal explains the limit and the upgrade path. You never lose data.
Why is the Transcript / AI Overview / AI Chat tab grayed out?
When a video has no existing transcript yet, those tabs are disabled. Open the Transcribe form, generate a transcript (30–90 seconds for most videos), and the tabs unlock. The Transcript tab activates automatically once the transcript is ready.
Is there a student or education discount?
Not yet — but our Free plan covers a lot of use cases (5 transcriptions, 10 overviews, 25 chat messages and 10 exports per month, plus 1 video over 30 minutes free every month). Watch the changelog for updates.
Is there a maximum video length?
Free supports videos up to 30 minutes, plus one video up to 2 hours per month. Plus and Pro support videos up to 4 hours — long enough for virtually anything on YouTube.

Where is my billing data stored?
Stripe handles all payment data — card numbers, billing addresses, plan history. We never see or store your card details. See our Privacy Policy for the full sub-processor list.
