Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 6, 2026

Overview

Tubelator ("we", "us", "our") is a Chrome extension operated by Devs Routes LTD. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By installing or using Tubelator, you agree to this policy.

Data we collect

We collect four categories of data:

  • Account data — when you sign in (via Google or email/password), we receive your email address, display name, profile photo URL, and a stable user ID from Firebase Auth.
  • YouTube data — when you open the Tubelator panel on a YouTube /watch page, we read the current video ID, the available caption tracks, and (when you request it) the video's transcript. This is captured only while the panel is open and is never sent anywhere outside the extension unless you explicitly ask for a feature that needs it (e.g. Transcribe, AI Overview, AI Chat).
  • Usage data — we record anonymized events in PostHog (feature clicks, settings changes, errors) to understand which features are useful and which need work. We do not record transcript text in PostHog.
  • Billing data — if you upgrade to Plus or Pro, Stripe processes the payment and stores your name, the last four digits of your card, billing address, and plan history. We never see or store your full card details.

How we use your data

We use your data to authenticate you, to generate and display transcripts, to power the AI Overview and AI Chat features, to improve the product, to process payments, and to send you product notifications (which you can dismiss individually). We do not sell your data. We do not advertise to you. We do not train third-party AI models on your data.
