So, Rim World is known as being one of
the best colony sims of all time. But
what if you wanted something else?
Something a little bit different? Well,
colony Sims and base builders, they let
you do so much from gathering resources,
creating a safe place to live, building
relationships and stories with your
people, or just straight up causing mass
hysteria. There's just so much to do in
these type of games. Hey everyone, it's
Marco here and today I'll be giving you
18 great games like Room World for you
to check out. And if you're liking my

first up on the list is SAD or Stranded
Alien Dawn. In this 3D colony sim,
you're in charge of the small maroon
group trying to survive. It's a bit like
Room World and The Sims combined, which
sets you up for quite an addictive
experience. You're dropped on this
deadly alien planet with a small crew,
and it's up to you to keep them alive by
fighting off alien wildlife, managing
hunger, sickness, morale, and those
elements. It's like Rim World's more
accessible cousin with its slightly
sleeker look, and a bit more of a
forgiving learning curve. Building up
your base, scavenging crashed ship
parts, researching tech, and keeping
your survivors sane never gets old, and
this should definitely be a game for you
to check out if you haven't already.
Then next up on the list, this one comes
highly recommended. It's Noble Fates,
where this is one of those rare gems
that hits the perfect colony sim sweet
spot. You've got deep character stories,
full-on kingdom management, and actual
vertical building. We're talking tunnels
and towers. 16 levels up, 16 down. You
get to play as a demigod, guiding your
crew from humble beginnings to noble
greatness, balancing belief systems,
wealth distribution, and social
dynamics, all while handling raids,
politics, and the occasional cannibal.
