showing up and loving virginia woolf
march 20th 2021 the first day of spring
this is a virtual event brought to you
by time and space limited
located right here in hudson new york
but just remind you to mute yourselves

coming up and we'll let you in after
that this event is supported by claudia
bruce
co-director of time and space limited
and our zoom technician is jeff marks
who's also the general manager of tsl
the discussion today is our second to
focus on virginia woolf's work
the first was mrs dalloway and today
we're going to talk about to the
lighthouse
tsl and wolfe are linked historically
as a theater director in new york city
in the 1970s i developed two theater
projects
one was based on her book of the waves
and the moment which was an essay that i
made into a performance and that's where
claudia and i
first started to work together as
collaborators
in our new york city days in the tsl
storefront on 22nd street
those were the days now we're here in
hudson new york but what
what moves me and continues to his
wolf's language it was perfect for my
experimental theater ideas
i first read the lighthouse in 1979 and
then again
in 1997 and now once again in 2021 the
year of cobid
each time i've read the book it takes me
on an amazing
journey into virginia woolf's world and
triggers many thoughts as i travel with
her
the story is autobiographical but for me
