okay so welcome to now the torso section
artistic anatomy so what I'm going to
show you with the help of the skeleton
in this particular section is the
relevant bones of the torso so what we
think of in terms of these areas and
really all bones is how to break them
down in a more simple more manageable
volumes in solids to really draw the
figure well you want to memorize the
quite frankly the entire skeleton
skeleton to be able to draw the skeleton
out of your head from imagination
imagination and it's really not as hard
as you think of this it might seem
daunting at first but what we want to
know is you want to have knowledge then
you want to be able to isolate the bones
and/or the muscles too and then group
them back together stronger with the
muscles in the bones and then apply them
to living anatomy drawing from
observation or reference and practice it
daily weekly monthly over years and
you'll have it and you make your drawing
stronger no one worrying about Anatomy
it doesn't solve all your drawing
problems it's better to come to Anatomy
over time when you've got some some
advanced training in before you get to
you get to Anatomy with the bone serum
and the muscles so just one one piece on
that so we do want to memorize certainly
the skeleton and be able to draw it from
different positions so let's let's break
down now the bones of the torso both
front and back and then after we do this
will point them out on the skeleton here
then we'll go to the drawings and work
on our drawings and I'll show you how to
how to think about them a little bit
more simply so that you can put them
together and see them on the model when
you draw and then be able to drawing out
of your head when you need them as well
all right so let's take a look at the
positions here the forms here so the
first thing you want to start
is obvious in the rib cage so the rib
cage is just like its name its cage line
