'Will the Modi Govt Privatise IDBI Bank or Not?' #idbibank
The union members of IDBI Bank met Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament (MP) from Baramati, Maharashtra, as part of their submission process to various MPs across political parties against the bank's privatisation. Expressing their concerns, she questioned whether the bank would indeed be privatised. She cited the previous NDA government's assurance that any stake dilution would occur only through Parliament. Last, very… sir, very short point.
Sir, I just want to ask, they were talking about very good development of IDBI Bank.
Sir, they are saying banks are doing wonderfully, I agree with you.
They are doing well because they have consolidated, they are merging many, many banks,
that's why the position is good, but achche ko achcha bolna chahiye,
main itna tikda tikdi to achcha to zarur bolenge kuch to.
To banking mein achcha kiya hai, sahi baat hai.
But I want to ask this government a one very small and a very important question,
that the privatisation of IDBI bank, finance ministry, will be done by the government?
I have no answer to that.
The reason for this is that this is something which is against the parliament.
in 30 seconds, sir.
Jaswant Singh ji ne floor of the house pe commitment kiya tha ki
IDBI agar hum kabhi bhi dilute karenge, to we will pass it through the parliament.
Now they are not doing that, sir.
What Deserve Bank has, they had first classified it, it was an infrastructure, then it came into banking.
So now the government which now owns 45.48% stake in IDBI,
now they are looking to divest this of 30.48%.
So that means 61% of bank shares will go into private hands.
So government, and my only point is you want to divest, bring it, follow the rules.
You come to Parliament because Justin Sinclair said it on the floor of the House
that we have come, then what is the sanity of having this Parliament or this government to do what we want?
Just by winning elections does not mean all is well.
