In the novel by Daniel Kehlmann, Alexander von Humboldt and Karl Friedrich Gauß discover the world.
Each in his own way. While Gauß dominates the theory, Humboldt leads to the Amazonas.
The world's best goalkeeper von Albrecht Schuch is playing,
who returns to the origins of his career at the Leipzig premiere party.
It's great to be in the city where I studied and learned to love.
And to present the film, which was my first film after my studies in Leipzig.
Accompanied by a huge film crew and directed by Detlef Buck,
Schuch's first major filming work led him to some original locations of Humboldt's research.
All the way down to the jungle of South America.
It was an adventure to drive to Ecuador.
with native Indians who actually only speak Kichwa,
a language, so only Indians, and who then suddenly have such a European film team in front of them.
In the double biography, Buck also depicts the story of Gauss, the young mathematical genius,
played by Florian David-Fitz. But not only scientific curiosity unites the unequal researchers.
In the end, what matters is that they discover each other and say, we can't complain.
We are curious and will remain curious.
Detlef Buck has turned Kehlmann's bestseller into a picture-perfect German cinema,
which also convinces connoisseurs of the template.
The film writes history.
And you always have the feeling that life is writing the best story.
It is definitely worth recommending.

but I think they did a really good job.
