Tell me, what was the biggest mistake in your artistic life?
The biggest mistake in my life was that I produced.
I have a production company since 1947.
In 1947, when I thought that I was producing not for my money or anything, but because I felt that there were mistakes.
And I said that with my experience in the movies that I made, I could correct these mistakes and make a new film as a model.
And I really started with a film called Al-Muamer.
What is the right thing in your opinion to produce a film that is a honor to the level of a professional artist?
First of all, we say that the film is Egyptian.
It should have the Egyptian spirit in it, from all aspects.
From the story, from the music, from the atmosphere, from the environment, from everything.
This is the first thing.
The material aspects must be complete.
There should not be a lack of material in the process.
Because this lack of material is lost if you have the money to make a full film.
You can do it and it will go in the right way.
But if you have lost the money and you have to go to the distributor,
The director has to make the film based on the characters he has chosen
This is one of the material aspects
The characters must be chosen in a proper way
And everyone should be in his position and age
The third aspect is the commitment to the schedule
And the honesty in the performance
Everyone who works in the operation must feel that he has a big responsibility
And that he must perform this responsibility as it should be
So he performs it with honesty and sincerity
All these elements
I mean, a novel in the cinema or a novel in the theater is like a ball
It must be all homogeneous and understandable
