Game of Thrones Season 1 featured a sprawling ensemble cast led by Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, GoldenEye, Troy) as Eddard “Ned” Stark, the honorable Lord of Winterfell who is thrust into the deadly politics of King’s Landing. Mark Addy (A Knight’s Tale, The Full Monty, Robin Hood) played King Robert Baratheon, the hard-drinking and battle-worn ruler of Westeros. Lena Headey (300, Dredd, The Brothers Grimm) starred as Queen Cersei Lannister, a cunning and ambitious political force. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Oblivion, Mama, Headhunters) portrayed Jaime Lannister, Cersei’s charismatic yet dangerous twin brother. Peter Dinklage (The Station Agent, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Elf) gave a standout performance as Tyrion Lannister, the witty and sharp-tongued outcast of the powerful Lannister family. Michelle Fairley (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Suits, Philomena) played Catelyn Stark, Ned’s strong-willed wife. Richard Madden (Cinderella, Bodyguard, Eternals) portrayed their eldest son Robb Stark, a rising leader in the North. Kit Harington (Pompeii, Eternals, How to Train Your Dragon 2) starred as Jon Snow, Ned’s illegitimate son who joins the Night’s Watch. Sophie Turner (X-Men: Dark Phoenix, The Staircase, Josie) played Sansa Stark, the eldest Stark daughter dreaming of a life at court. Maisie Williams (The New Mutants, Doctor Who, Pistol) portrayed Arya Stark, the fiercely independent and rebellious youngest daughter. Isaac Hempstead Wright (Voyagers, The Awakening, Family Guy) played Bran Stark, who embarks on a mystical journey after a tragic fall. Emilia Clarke (Me Before You, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Secret Invasion) starred as Daenerys Targaryen, the last surviving heir of a fallen dynasty seeking to reclaim the Iron Throne. Jason Momoa (Aquaman, Dune, See) portrayed Khal Drogo, the fierce leader of the Dothraki and Daenerys’s husband. Iain Glen (Resident Evil: Extinction, Downton Abbey, Titans) played Ser Jorah Mormont, a disgraced knight who becomes Daenerys’s devoted advisor.
