change officer special series step
conference
we are kicking off with isa
isa is a managing partner at
access bridge ventures
with more than 16 or more years in vc
space you've seen a lot
you went through a lot you reached the
stage where
as you said you you have a team that can
they can do quite a lot of work
and
source new opportunities
but i would really like to learn from
you over these next 20 minutes more
about you know
your view on what we've been through
over the previous 10 years and then also
what we're really looking at or the next
and coming 10 years here in the region
in specific um
so yeah let's let's let's go for it yeah
nice to be here thanks for having me
yeah yeah so maybe i'll start off
telling you a bit about my background
tonight yeah
it would be good to
introduce you to our listeners as well
yeah yeah so i've uh i stumbled upon vc
probably around 2006.
honestly over a dinner party someone was
launching one of the first vc funds in
mina it was still very early stage early
days in the middle east and
i went home and read what vc is and uh
was fortunate enough to
you know join and be part of that
journey and i've been doing it since you
know i found something i enjoy doing and
i i i truly love doing what i do what's
the piece of
of
there is a lot of misconceptions about
venture capital yeah first of all first
the misconception is isa owns the money
no no well historically this is the
first time i run a private sector
historically i've been an employee right
