with my hebrew bible i've got the
translations of the niv and the jps why
did i pick those two the niv basically a
christian translation the jps the jewish
publication society that's a jewish
translation and between the two were
able to find some wonderful things let's
get started right away
with jonah chapter 1 verse 1. here's
what both of these translations say
word for word the word of the lord came
to jonah's son of amitai we should just
be able to say that's it let's move on
except in this bible study we love to go
a little bit deeper so as i'm looking at
my hebrew bible and i've got my jps and
i've got my niv i'm going to look and
see what it says the first word that
comes up is the word
now here's what's exciting about this
you don't have to know how to read
hebrew i'm going to do a transliteration
so i've got the hebrew i've got a
transliteration and i've got their
translations and so between the three
we're going to be able to uh to get to
the bottom of this situation so this
