Their product roadmap should not determine what your product roadmap is
because then you're not going to create resources that are authentic to you, your
brand, and what you're good at. If you're just creating somebody else's resources
and replicating them, you're not gonna know how to authentically talk about it
and market that product because guess what? It wasn't your idea.
Hey y'all, it's Amber Calderon. Welcome back to my channel. This is a place for

from me again. Okay this video I decided if I was starting a Teachers Pay Teachers
store all over again what would I make sure that I focus on that way I can
reach those financial goals that I want to reach. So if you're thinking of
starting a TPT store if you're just starting out or you want to get

new video. Okay, let's get started. One of the first things I would do if I was
starting a Teachers Pay Teacher store from scratch again is I would make sure
to invest in commercial fonts and clipart. And reason being is if I'm gonna
make money off of the resources that I'm making, I need to make sure you need to
make sure that you're using fonts and images that give you a commercial
license. Fun fact, every business that has images on their website, even in their
email, those have been used for commercial use. When I was just starting
off, I used KG fonts and a Perfect Blend teaching. I thought those just had so
many variations of fonts that I could use. Of course, you know you shouldn't be
using all of the fonts under the sun,
and you don't need to buy the big font licenses
whenever you're just starting off,
but my recommendation is find a cursive font
and find a print font that you love.
You can buy just those two fonts
because I know starting a business
does have an investment in it.
I definitely didn't start spending a lot of money
on my Teacher's Pay Teacher's Store
until I started seeing those financial numbers rise.
So that's something that you need to do for your business.
I'm just saying you don't have to bring the whole elephant into the room.
This also aligns with any elements you might be using in your resources.
Again, you don't need to have a super cluttered resource when you're creating them.
And there are a lot of resources that thrive that don't have all of the clip art.
So what I'm saying is if that's a part of your style,
then you want to make sure you are using a commercial license
because you don't want to start a business right off the bat and you're
already facing legal repercussions. You think it doesn't happen but oh it does
and if that happens just protect yourself. If I was starting a teachers
pay teachers store from scratch this one is so important okay because it can be
really intimidating to see all of the resources across teachers pay teachers
