Pinball Philosophy - Old and New World Artwork and Themes - PinballHelp.com
This is a series of videos where I talk about, "What is the deal with pinball?" Why do so many people like this old hobby/industry? I talk philosophically about what pinball means to me and other people, and how it has changed over time. In this episode, I talk about the difference between the "old world" and "new world" pinball in terms of how games were themed and designed. I have my own ideas on the pros/cons of this. greetings and welcome to pinball help
mike here
today i'm going to do another
installment of what is the deal with
pinball but
more appropriately let's call it pinball
philosophy
it seems to make more sense i've done
one episode of this where i talked about
you know what is the deal with pinball
why are so many people into it
and everybody has a million reasons for
why they like pinball
and i'm just going to share some of my
random
kind of stream of consciousness the
philosophical kind of
anecdotes about pinball and why i think
it's really interesting and it's just
another
thing in our series that uh i'm going to
do here so today i want to talk about
old world versus the new world um
in the area of wine you have the old
world and the new world
it's just kind of a metaphor for the way
things used to be
and the way things are now and uh
pinball has that too
in the world of wine the old world would
be
france germany italy
spain the new world is like america
australia chile
and when it comes to wine making
things are done differently in the old
world versus the new world in the old
world
the wines were named after the regions
where they came from they were very
derivative
of the land and the people and the
culture and you could taste it in the
wine and that's what it was reflective
of
and it was heavily regulated by the
states out there
in the new world the wine was named
after the grapes or the
or you know the
