Hello everybody this is showing you my version of the Russian idea for making a
powered graver and very simple and it works very well you know all the
the systems you see you know relatively expensive but you can do quite a lot
with this and a bit of practice you'll get as good as you can do anything. At
the end of the video I'll demonstrate what it can do I may do one before as
but I'm just going to go through what I used and then it should show you very
simple you can make your own and you can get engraving right let's go through
let's start with the little car tire compressor I'm sure you can get these in
anywhere in the world I imagine they come from China so there you can see
what it is and explained in a previous video it's a little piston inside you
dismantle the piston take everything out you don't have to take there's a few
things in it that you can leave in but basically the the bit that goes up and
down it has a little valve you want to seal that valve up I'll link to the
Russian Sergei I don't know his name anyway I'll link to that and that will
kind of show you a little bit as well but you kind of glue that valve down so
the piston is blowing and sucking right I said this before anyway so I just got
a copper pipe I experimented on thicker tube but this is about the right size
right this tube is a good size for making the graver I tried a bigger tube
thinking that it kind of would make less strain on the piston but obviously it's
to do with compression or that but let me just measure that for you so you
know that is 6.8 mil plastic tube and what you know it's got a hole in the
middle but it'll give you an idea so you don't have to go crazy with tube right
so that and right I've glued a bit of a copper pipe on there with some
araldite epoxy resin and you know that's quite secure but however you fit it
you know you've got to attach the tube into the top of the cylinder right from
that right the the power source is oh here we go it's there we are so it's a
thing for LED lights and so yeah it's 12 I think it goes up to no it's 12 volts
the controller goes up to more right and a 5 amp so you see so it's for LED
light so quite a nice one I imagine that will work quite well so you can see
there just the power in and the power out you know I'm gonna put all this in a
box and it's got another thing there and I'll probably put a little fan in the
box to keep everything cool but before it goes in a box I wanted to show you
right so the speed controller is this thing
and just for you know I got the I got a better quality you can get quite cheap
I've got a cheaper one and it was getting a bit hot I'm not sure it would
last but this you know as a duty cycle forever so it should go and it's got a
little that's flashing it's not flashing in real life it's just flashing the
camera it's got a display and a control switch so something's happened with
display it was going from 0 to 60 and now it's for some reason I did
something I've emailed them it's going from anyway so nice speed controller and
speed switch so imagine that's all going to be in a box and I'll have that
showing the speed controller isn't necessary it's nice but you can adjust
the way the graver hits and you know the way I've got it right right so let me
show you the foot pedal now no I won't show you the foot pedal I'll show you
the hand piece right as you can see the hand piece right it's one of those cheap
screwdrivers I'm sure you can get them anywhere the make is called a
Olsen but I've seen different makes but some Chinese thing so you I'm sure you
get it anywhere in the world right so that's the handpiece I drilled out the
front and now that takes a GRS quick change fixture I may actually it's done
some experiments I may actually glue that in solid and then you just remove
