So after the events of September Black,
which was a clash between the Jordanian army and the Palestinian organizations,
the Palestinians were defeated and needed a new operational base.
The chaotic situation in nearby Lebanon became an attractive target,
and so it was that the organizations that were formed under the PLO,
the organization for the liberation of Palestine,
transferred their activity to Lebanon.
They even participated in the Lebanese Civil War that broke out in the mid-1970s.
The Syrian army, which joined the war, initially acted against the Palestinians, but eventually decided that it was better not to act against the Christians, and the Palestinians actually managed to establish themselves well in Lebanon.
