is nominated for the Lola for Best Male Supporting Role.
First of all, congratulations on this sensational success story for the West, nothing new.
And you have written both BAFTA history, 14 nominations, 7 awards, including Best Film, Best Internet.
You were nominated as a supporting actor, then of course you wrote Oscar history,
won nine nominations, four times, now with 12 nominations, a huge favorite at the German
Film Prize. And you again nominated yourself as a supporting actor. How did you perceive the last six months?
So what happened there, how did you experience it? How much time do we have? No, seriously, I can't
answer that at all. I can only get moments out of it, I think, when I
I was alone in the area where you should be quiet.
It was almost like a church silence.
I read that and I knew that the shortlist for the BAFTAs was coming out that day.
I turned on my phone and got a lot of messages.
It was delayed by 10 hours.
I thought, okay, this is something positive.
I decided to open the chat room of my siblings.
Because I knew that if there was something positive to say,
then I will be immediately snorted by them and kept on the carpet with their jokes.
and comments. And that's exactly how it was. And that really touched me, because, yes,
now somehow getting such a feedback, such a positive, such recognition from colleagues
from the UK is of course the absolute madness. There are so many role models here,
players, directors and authors, who I just worship, who then say,

That was very touching.
And anyway, that whole evening in London at the BAFTAs
was a total rush.
With such wonderful encounters,
I always tell people, like Cate Blanchett,
that what you did there was just amazing.
and you think, you're pretty good too.

It was my absolute favourite film last year.
